go make a difference

Sitting here at dilworth in Matthews, and watched a woman hold traffic while a handicapped person made the turn into the shopping center. How cool is that?! I have to say I am very impressed with how she handled the situation. I am ashamed to think that if i were put in the same situation I would most likely have done nothing. Traffic laws are made for just such a time as this. Why make a move? Because we care. We care for those who have a hard time getting through life.

It surprises me that this is the second, maybe more, post that i have done so far that has involved handicapped people. I think that the disabled have a place in my heart. It is touching to me whenever something – such as the woman I just witnessed – happens. So wonderful. My only question is, “why haven’t more people taken notice? Why is the first time I’ve seen someone take such care of the handicapped?”

I believe that we can all be making a difference. How? There are millions of organizations and charities that help the causes that we rare all secretly aware of, yet publicly ignoring. Please think about helping out the people who are so often discouraged and usually mistreated. Google it people! There’s so much we can be doing!!

making a difference

Hey readers! Today I decided to check out SocialVibe.com, and it is so great! I’m so happy that people all around the world are helping to make a difference as much as they can, even over the web.

There are currently four charities on SocialVibe that I’m supporting, but you’ll notice the widget on the side of this blog is for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You may ask why I chose this: the *answer is, my grandmother died from leukemia, and for the last year or two I’ve become active with Light The Night [www.lightthenight.org], another organization dedicated to finding a cure. I encourage you to help out with making a difference, not only in this (personally meaningful) charity, but also in the other ones I support (via SocialVibe.com):

Charity:Water (currently 83% of their goal reached)
To Write Love On Her Arms (currently 82% of their goal reached)
Environment (currently 64% of their goal reached)
*The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society (currently 58% of their goal reached)

Help make a difference!

we’re not all blessed

I would put $750 of it into a savings account so I could earn interest off of it and end up with more than I started with.

Enough of the boring (smart) stuff. Shopping time! I’d go to Ann Taylor LOFT, American Eagle, etc, and have fun with it!

Anything left goes to charity (i.e. To Write Love on Her Arms, or a Jewish non-profit organization, Make a Wish Foundation, Lev LaLev, etc.) Help support those in need – not everyone is as blessed as we are.
